Garnet #7
“Lab Created Garnet #7” (or Synthetic Garnet #7) is a manufacturer color-grading code for synthetic corundum (lab-grown sapphire/ruby) that replicates a deep, dark garnet-red color.
In the gemstone trade, true natural garnets are very affordable, so factories do not typically synthesize genuine silicate garnets for standard jewelry. Instead, they use the Verneuil (Flame Fusion) method to grow ultra-durable corundum crystals, adding specific metallic dopants to mimic the iconic, dark brownish-red appearance of natural Almandine or Pyrope garnets.
